A picture of the last times is a net dragged through the sea (the gentiles). The good are kept; the worthless are discarded by the angels into hell

After the parable of the treasure in the field, which refers to Israel being put aside for the moment, Jesus relates the parable of the goodly pearl, describing the church age started by Jesus' crucifixion.

Matthew 13:44 The treasure in the field

A man finds a treasure in the field, hides it again, and using all his money buys the field. Meaning: Jesus has already bought the field, which is the world, by creation and redemption. He will return again as King of Kings and set up his kingdom on earth.

Matthew 13:24-30, 34-43 Parable of the tares

After sowing good seed, an enemy. Satan, sowed false wheat (tares) in the midst of the good wheat. They would wait until the harvest and the harvesters would separate them and burn them. Meaning: in the future, Jesus will return, the angels will separate out the unsaved and throw them into hell and the saved will shine forth. 

Matthew 13:33 Parable of leaven

A woman placed leaven in 3 measures of flour to leaven an entire loaf. So false teaching spreads secretly throughout the entire group of "Christians."

Jesus teaches the parable of the sower and 4 types of soil with various yields.

The kingdom of heaven is like the unnatural growth of the mustard plant trying to be a tree

Jesus begins using parables, explains a bit of why to the disciples and gives the parable of the sower

Matthew 12:46-49 Jesus' family are those doing His Father's will

When Jesus' mother and brothers came to speak with him, he showed the crowd that his disciples were his family, those who were doing the Father's will, and that is true for us as well.
